Jiayi is a landscape designer who is deeply committed to fostering community well-being and creating equitable, safe, and resilient open spaces. She believes that communities must be heard during the design process and have substantial input on public spaces. Particularly drawn to urban projects, Jiayi recognizes the transformative power of public spaces to positively impact individuals and communities. She excels at managing multidisciplinary projects, seamlessly integrating landscape architecture and placemaking strategies to create creative, inclusive, resilient, and culturally vibrant environments. Her commitment to green infrastructure drives her interest in projects that incorporate sustainable design practices and ecological restoration, enhancing environmental performance, mitigating climate change impacts, and promoting ecological resilience. Her international experience brings a unique perspective, including nighttime placemaking research on Kagurazaka Street in Tokyo, activation of historical parks in Milan, and a variety of landscape architecture and interior design projects in China, from parks and waterfronts to residential and institutional spaces.
